Day 18: A time when I felt passionate and alive

{>whistles softly while staring at the ceiling<}

Ok, well, for this post, I'm going to have to copy and paste an old blog post from my old blog here (:

"OK, so one day when I was riding, I had an experience with God.

I couldn't get over this jump. I was stressing, Silver was stressing, and Megan (my trainer) was stressing. The lesson wasn't going well. The jump was SUPER easy too..... I was just too stressed.

Out of options, I decided to try to imagine that God was riding behind me and had His arms around my waist. Personally I believe He was. And then also I sang the chorus of By Your Side. Here it is -

I'll be by your side, whenever you fall
In the dead of night, whenever you call
Please don't fight, these hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

You know what's funny?? It wasn't even my fave song at the time. The lyrics were just perfect for the moment. And guess what?!? I got over the jump!

I can't really explain the feeling it gave me, too personal and indescribable for words, It was amazing! I could feel His presence.

That gave me SUCH a high!!! :)"

Day 7: Five things you couldn't possibly live without

{yes'm, it's not day 7, blah blah, you know the rest...}

Let's see. It will be hard to narrow down to five! I love a lot of things....

}1{. Elisa

that's my sis.... she's soo beautiful...

}2{. Music

}3{. Air

As lame as this sounds, it's true.

}4{. My imagination

where would I be without it??? :\

}5{. God

As obvious as it sounds (He gives me life, so I'd literally be dead
without Him..), it's true.. He gives meaning and purpose
to my life, and without that, I probably would've killed myself already...

Day 3: A favorite book

{I know it's not day 3, I'm catching up cuz I was gone on a retreat this weekend}

Hello<3

I'm not gonna do the obvious–Narnia or Anne... Cuz that's not very creative...

Omy, fav book. That's hard

Well, I'm gonna have to go with Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Bernett.

The reason I pick this book is because it legitimately made an empact on my life! One of my goals is to help people like Cedric did in this book... I want to be so innocently loving that I always see the best in people no matter what, and treat others perfectly as I would want to be treated! I'm nowhere near that accomplishing that goal yet, but Jesus and I are working on that (:

I think everyone should read this book!!! (:

true improvement

"For mere improvement is not redemption, though redemption always improves people even here and now and will, in the end, improve them to a degree we cannot yet imagine."
C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity (1952; Harper Collins: 2001) 216.

This is soo true! I love this quote, because so many Christians believe they can get there on their own, just by becoming "better people".. This is actually possible, with a lot of will power you CAN stop doing certain things, but it DOESN'T change you inside! Inside you are still desperately wicked, and you won't be saved. A lot of the time, the people who are at their lowest, who do the worst things, and think they've hit rock bottom, are the people God can save the easiest!

That's why He allows Satan to strip us of our so called "good deeds", so we see how hopeless we are without Him. And then, and only then can He change us.

“Welcome, Prince,” said Aslan. “Do you feel yourself sufficient to take up the Kingship of Narnia?”
“I - I don't think I do, Sir,” said Caspian. “I'm only a kid.”
“Good,” said Aslan. “If you had felt yourself sufficient, it would have been a proof that you were not…”
C. S. Lewis, Prince Caspian (1951; Harper Collins: 2001) c. 15.
